Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your purchase of a business name from our marketplace (the “Marketplace”). By purchasing a name, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

What’s Included with Your Purchase:

  • Domain Name Ownership Transfer: Upon purchase, the ownership of the domain name will be transferred to your account.
  • (Optional) Logo Design: Some names may come with a logo design, including high-resolution source files.

Refund Policy:

You can receive a refund for a domain name purchased with upfront payment if all the following conditions are met:

  • Request within 24 Hours: You contact us within 24 hours of purchase to request a refund.
  • Purchase Price Limit: The domain purchase price is less than $5,000.

A 5% cancellation fee applies to all refunds to cover payment processing costs.

Exceptions:

  • Full Refund for Transfer Issues: If NameDear cannot transfer the domain to you, you’ll receive a full refund regardless of the purchase price, with no cancellation fee.
  • No Refunds After Transfer: Refunds are not available after the domain transfer has been initiated to you or after 24 hours of purchase (whichever comes first).

Installment Plan:

If you purchase a domain through an installment plan (or lease-to-own option), any payments made are non-refundable. However, you can cancel future installments at any time.

Domain Transfer:

  • Request Window: You must submit your domain transfer request within 3 calendar days of purchase.
  • Domain Escrow: If no request is received within 3 days, the domain will be moved to a secure NameDear Escrow account for up to 60 days. This ensures NameDear maintains control until the transfer is requested.
  • Transfer Lock: In some cases, the registrar may impose a 60-day transfer lock (per ICANN) when the domain is moved to escrow. This means you’ll receive the domain within the same registrar where it’s currently registered.

Important:

  • 60-Day Limit: We cannot hold domains in escrow for more than 60 days. If you don’t request a transfer within 60 days, NameDear will follow the Domain Transfer Timeline below.
  • Transfer Timeline: You have a maximum of 60 days after purchase to initiate and complete the transfer to your preferred registrar. Failure to do so may result in losing the domain name.
  • Expired Domains: Once the 60 days are up, the domain may no longer be available for transfer.
  • Reminder Emails: NameDear will send you multiple emails within the 60 days reminding you to initiate the transfer.

We strongly recommend transferring the domain as soon as possible after purchase to ensure you retain ownership and control.
